Grainger plc, the UK's largest quoted residential property owner, today announces the appointment of Belinda Richards to its Board as a non-executive director. Belinda (52) brings with her a wealth of experience from advising major companies on corporate finance and M&A situations gained from a twenty year career working for major accountancy and consultancy firms. Belinda’s most recent role was Global Head of Deloitte’s Merger Integration and Separation Advisory Services, a division of the business that she created and built up over the last ten years. During her career, she has worked on many high profile assignments, with recent examples including Lloyds TSB’s acquisition of HBOS and the separation and disposal of the banking activities of Standard Life plc.

Belinda Richards is considered independent on appointment under the provisions of the combined code. She will become a member of the Audit Committee with immediate effect.

Belinda is currently an independent non-executive director of Friends Provident Holdings (UK) plc.

There are no further details that are required to be disclosed in respect of the appointment under LR 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules of the UK listing Authority.
