Helen was appointed Chief Executive of Grainger in January 2016. Helen joined Grainger from RBS where she spent five years as Global Head of Real Estate Asset Management. Prior to that, Helen held the role of Director of Legal and General Property, responsible for the Main Life Fund and several smaller Funds. Other previous roles include Group Property Director of Railtrack and Managing Director of John Laing Developments.
Helen is Senior Independent Director on the Board of Derwent London and is currently Vice-Chair of the European Public Real Estate Association Helen is Past President of the British Property Federation and has held a number of non-exec positions and Government appointments including President of the British Property Federation, the Board of Covent Garden Market Authority, Board of British Waterways and was a Trustee for The College of Estate Management for nine years.
Helen is an Honorary Fellow of University College of Estate Management and a chartered surveyor.
Rob has over 29 years’ experience in finance. Rob was previously the chief finance and operations officer and interim chief executive of St Modwen plc, where he worked from 2015 to 2021. Prior to that, Rob was the group financial controller at British Land plc from 2011 to 2015. Rob joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers on graduation, then moved to Experian plc in 2000 where he held a number of senior financial roles, including Global Finance Director of its Decision Analytics business and UK Finance Director. Rob is a qualified chartered accountant.
Eliza is Director of Operations and Asset Management. Eliza is a senior leader within the business who first joined Grainger in 2000 as Sales and Acquisitions Manager within the Investment team.
Since then, Eliza has progressed through a number of roles, specialising in acquisitions, asset management and overseeing Grainger's significant portfolio of PRS and build to rent assets.
In her role as Director of Operations and Asset Management, Eliza oversees Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Valuation, Commercial and Leasehold for Grainger's operational portfolio of 9,727 rental homes.
Michael is Director of Land and Development at Grainger, with overall responsibility for the delivery and growth of our Build to Rent development pipeline.
Michael has 30 years of hands-on real estate and development experience. His expertise includes management of complex residential-led mixed use developments across the whole development lifecycle from identification and acquisition through to town planning, funding, construction, marketing, operation and exit.
Prior to joining Grainger, Michael was Development Director at Concord London Developments Ltd, where he led on the acquisition of the Moxon Street car park site in London’s Marylebone, and played an instrumental role in a Joint Venture with Brookfield to develop Principle Place in London EC1.
Michael leads on Grainger’s Joint Venture with Transport for London, a partnership that will see the delivery of 3,000 new homes across London.
Steven has worked in real estate for over 17 years across a range of disciplines including investment,
fund management and corporate finance. Having first joined Grainger in 2009, Steven re-joined the
business this year following two years spent as Residential Investment Director at Lendlease Europe.
In his current role, Steven heads the team responsible for the sourcing and execution of residential
investments, namely the forward funding of assets from third party developers and the acquisition of
stabilised assets.
A Chartered Accountant, Steven brings a wealth of residential and specifically BTR investment
experience to the Grainger team.
Under Paul’s direction, technology is being introduced across our business operations to enhance the customer experience, improve operational efficiencies further and protect Grainger’s license to operate.
Paul has over 20 years of extensive experience leading the delivery of global technology and digital business transformation programmes for major brands including Hewlett Packard, Airbus and Fujitsu. During his 7-year tenure at Hewlett Packard, Paul acted as Delivery Director for HP Defence UK, led the Group’s ES Business Transformation Programme within the EMEA Region, and was ultimately responsible for a US$250m Global Account and Sales team.
Michelle’s most recent role was People Director at Nationwide Building Society, the world’s largest building society. Prior to Nationwide Michelle held senior roles at Santander and RBS.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the real estate sector, Kurt is an Executive Committee member with responsibility for investor relations, communications, government relations, ESG, branding and marketing. Kurt is also a Board Director of Grainger’s affordable housing arm, Grainger Trust.
Kurt is a member of EPRA’s Investor Relations Committee and the British Property Federation’s Residential Board, Build to Rent Committee and Corporate Affairs Advisory Panel.
Prior to Grainger, Kurt worked at the British Property Federation and the Social Market Foundation.
David has more than 10 years of real estate experience in sell-side, buy-side and advisory roles. Prior to joining Grainger, David worked for Dutch investment bank Kempen, having previously worked as a research analyst at Barclays and Aviva Investors.
