Our core product is mid-market homes that are affordable to local people, and Grainger also has a registered provider – Grainger Trust which operates our social housing portfolio. On our new developments, we are committed to tenure blind design and equal access to amenities for all residents.
Ensuring our homes are designed to the highest sustainability standards
Our PRS specification provides a consistent design framework for Grainger’s new developments, and enables customer experiences and feedback to be incorporated into the design of our future buildings. Sustainability is integrated throughout the specification, ensuring our homes are designed to be energy efficient, comfortable and to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our residents.
We are committed to meeting sustainability best practice in the design of our homes, and review our schemes against leading sustainability standards, with a pilot of the Home Quality Mark, a best practice sustainability certification for new homes, planned on some future developments.

When investing in new properties, we review a number of environmental risks prior to acquisition to ensure our investments are futureproofed.
As part of our strategic asset management planning, we conduct sustainability risk reviews that include a range of factors including climate resilience and feed into decision-making on assets we retain, refurbish and sell.
Our refurbishment programme ensures properties are upgraded to meet higher levels of energy efficiency and improved customer comfort and satisfaction.
