Grainger Plc walked away with two awards for the company’s phenomenally successful development Macaulay Walk in Clapham Old Town, at The Sunday Times 2014 British Home Awards, held at The London Marriott, Grosvenor Square on Friday 19th September 2014. The company was awarded with ‘Best Mixed-Use Development’ and ‘Development of the Year’ for a scheme of 26-100 houses and /or apartments completed in the last 12 months. In addition, the architects behind the development, Assael Architecture, were awarded ‘Architect of the Year’.
Mark Woodrow, development director at Grainger Plc, comments: “Winning two awards is a huge achievement and it is great to see all of our hard work being recognised. Macaulay Walk, has been one of our most successful developments to date and we believe that this is down to our commitment to create a development which is not only sympathetic to the history of the site but also compliments the surrounding architecture.”
Russell Pedley, Director, Assael Architecture, comments: "We’re delighted to have picked up two awards for our designs at Macaulay Walk, but it is about a team effort and Grainger put a good project team together to deliver this award winning scheme and played an active role in the evolution of the design and the delivery of quality. It demonstrates that behind every successful development there needs to be a great client who listens to the team, but can also deliver. We’re ecstatic to have picked up ‘Architect of the Year’ as well!"
